  • About Acetic Acid

Acetic Acid is a colourless, pungent liquid. It is most commonly sold as an 80% Solution but also undiluted as a "Glacial Acetic Acid". It is made either synthetically (through methanol carbonylation) or bacterial fermentation. Applications of Acetic Acid include flavouring agents, inhibiting bacterial growth, and extending the shelf life of products that use Acetic Acid.

Acetic Acid creates a sour taste, making it a powerful addition to sauces, marinades, dressings, and pickling. Medically, it inhibits bacterial growth, with studies supporting its effectiveness, even at low concentrations. Industrially, Acetic Acid is used for descaling and as a key component in adhesives and paints.

At Kilo, we stock Acetic Acid in 25kg polys and IBCs at an 80% concentration on-site. We also trade regularly in different concentrations and various pack sizes to suit your needs as effectively as possible.
